The hammer plates of a crusher crush materials under high-speed rotation, thus bearing the impact of materials. The materials to be crushed are high-hardness ones such as iron ore and stone, so the hammer plates are required to have sufficient hardness and toughness. According to relevant technical data, only when the hardness and impact toughness of the material reach HRC>45 and α>20 J/cm² respectively can the performance requirements under the above working conditions be satisfied.
Based on the working characteristics and requirements of hammer plates, the materials commonly used are high manganese steel and low alloy wear-resistant steel. High manganese steel has good wear resistance and high toughness. After quenching + low-temperature tempering, low alloy wear-resistant steel forms a strong and toughened tempered martensite structure, which improves the hardness of the alloy while retaining good toughness. Both materials can meet the working requirements of hammer plates.
